It’s quite possible that AI content will eventually be completely accepted and will rank beautifully. It’s also possible that it will be banned from Google and prevented from ranking. Until we know just what is going to happen, it’s best to err on the side of caution. With human-generated content, you know you’re going to be safe. Later, if Google settles completely on accepting and ranking AI content, you can always switch.
Another reason to skip artificial intelligence is that it’s not yet perfect. ChatGPT is notorious for making up “facts” and creating false statements. That means you need a human to double-check and edit everything anyway. It makes more sense to just have the human write the article in the first place.
